About

A shared visual room, not only a classroom.

Pen & Board began with tutoring because that problem was immediate: video, worksheets and a board belonged in one place. The same pattern helps any small meeting where people need to look at something and mark it up together.

Primary audience

Keep teachers first. Expand by use case.

A clear starting audience makes the product easier to understand. The site can still welcome adjacent groups with an “also useful for” section instead of replacing its strongest message.

T

Tutors and teachers

Math, science, languages, test preparation, music theory and office hours.

C

Coaches and mentors

Career coaching, coding mentorship, portfolio review and guided problem-solving.

R

Remote support

Walk a customer through a form, diagram, screenshot or setup while pointing to the exact place.

D

Creative reviews

Design critique, illustration feedback, manuscript review and visual planning.

S

Sales and onboarding

Small product demonstrations and customer onboarding where a shared document matters.

L

Language exchange

Read, annotate, correct and explain a text while staying face to face.

Regulated medical, legal or financial use should wait until the product has the required contracts, retention controls, audit logs and compliance review.

What the product should stand for

Pen & Board should feel immediate, calm and dependable. The most valuable promise is not “more features.” It is that a guest can open one link and the conversation, material and markup all work together.

Design principles

  • One obvious action at a time.
  • Useful on a participant's phone, excellent on a host's computer.
  • Failures are visible and recoverable, especially microphone and connection failures.
  • Motion explains state changes; it never competes with the session.
  • Marketing claims match tested functionality.

Bring a document. Start a conversation.
